When I got a friend request from Uttamasloka on facebook and he presented his book, I immediately knew this was a message. Normall I would say a message from Krishna, put the peculiarity in this case is that I immediately wanted reserve myself, so from someone who holds Krishna very dear and is dear to Krishna. Anonymously.
So I started to read the book.
I have been intrested in raganuga bhakti for about 10 years, and heard from those who said they practiced it, but never felt ant deeper impetus to figure out it all for myself. I did not want to stray from Prabhupada and everyone I heard from was either not followers of Prabhupada or strayed away.
During reading the message came very clear to me, due to its excellent descriptions, and some realisations finally came to me.
The first, intresting enough, was - do not tell.
Before I have heard 'rules' that say they were not allowed to say anything, or dire consequences would occur, or something.
During reading my realisation was simply - I don't want to tell.
The reason? Not because of any rule or consequences, but rather, let's call it shyness. Out of shyness and that I don't find a reason to tell, I will keep my sadhana a secret. The realisation why I should appear like any vaidhi bhakta on the outside also came. Mainly to avoid questions, and to show a good example to others.
Another realisation was - I understand this, everything.
Before I have heard about ekadasa bhava, siddha pranali and all that, and wondered about the rigid formula.*
After reading I understand exactly why.
Other questions, chaitya guru gives me answer to pretty immediately.
So this is something I will use in intensifying my sadhana, how, what and how much I will not tell. Just that it is a help.
One question while reading is - who is the audience for this book?
I don't know exactly. But it is a fantastic service to provide a description and help in the line of Prabhupada. No one can anymore that Prabhupada did not give everything, or that they have to look to other gurus for 'more advanced' teachings, or even completely go to a Radhakunda babaji, rejecting Prabhupada altogether.
It is this Prabhupada wanted his disciples to do!
Maybe the audience in iskcon is not so big yet, but it should be, since devotees should advance and then one they they would want to read this book for answers. In a climate of no one telling, someone have to be the teacher and describe.
Som thank you for this book, and the fantastic endevour to write it.
My humble obeisances and great thanks to you Uttamasloka prabhu.
